The Horizon Convention Center is an innovative mix of historic beauty and modern design.

Formerly Muncie’s Federal Building, the Horizon Convention Center features a glass-enclosed pavilion, outdoor terrace, and the classical splendor of the lobby’s original interior. A 1996 expansion increased the facility’s meeting space to 47,000 square feet.

The Horizon Convention Center also boasts the second largest children’s museum in the state and is proximate to the newly revitalized downtown area, which offers a variety of restaurants, entertainment, and shopping. These are just a few of the amenities that the city offers in the way of leisure-time activities for guests to our facility.

You will be pleasantly surprised how far your dollar will take you in Muncie. You’ll find hotel accommodations in Muncie with room rates that are among the lowest of Indiana’s larger cities. The attached 150-room Courtyard by Marriott offers ease of accessibility to sleeping rooms and Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Company. This unique hotel also houses the Erskine Green Training Institute, a post-secondary hospitality training center for people with disabilities. Located right down town, and adjoined with the Convention Center, it is the perfect place to stay while attending an event at the Horizon Convention Center.

Visitors will enjoy Muncie’s “block party” ambience – thanks to a concentration of museums, galleries, restaurants, and nightspots, all within walking distance of the convention center.

The city of Muncie is also home to the 955-acre campus of Ball State University. Some notable alumni from the state’s third largest campus are Jim Davis, creator of the comic strip “Garfield,” and TV legend David Letterman of CBS’ “Late Show.”

Muncie is a half-day’s drive from 60 percent of the nation’s population. A convenient distance from most Indiana cities and less than an hour’s drive from Indianapolis, you’ll find Muncie is easily accessible, just off of Interstate 69.
